Evidence: Hitlers contempt for Christianity; the Nuremburg papers

The Nazi Plan for Total Domination or Destruction of the Churches

“National Socialism and religion cannot exist together…. The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity…. Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things. (p 6 & 7)” Adolph Hitler (1)

Was Hitler really a Biblical Christian who was driven by those beliefs? Or was he an ardent Darwinist intent on destroying Christianity and anything else that stood in his way of cleansing the human race of the weak and unfit? The answer to this question is not too difficult, despite the dust kicked up by some who apparently are  eager to avoid the implications of Hitlers primary evolutionary faith. First of all, Mein Kampf, or My Struggle, is pretty much written in explicitly evolutionary terminology. If you haven’t read it and want to try to understand Hitlers motivation I suggest you do so; it is a fairly easy source to access.

The next set of documents you might want to look at are called “the Nuremberg Documents” or collection, which can be found at the Rutgers University Journal of Law and Religion website.

http://org.law.rutgers.edu/publications/law-religion/nurinst1.shtml     (This link should take you to the right page)

There you can look at the various documents obtained at Nuremberg, one group of which is entitled, “July 6, 1945 – “The Nazi Master Plan: The Persecution of the Christian Churches” , which describes (in a pdf. of the actual documents), the Nazi plan for persecuting, infiltrating all the various churches, the seizing of control of the church governments, the killing of the leaders who resisted, both Catholic and Evangelical, etc. The papers reveal how the Nazis obtained the Concordat from the Catholic Church, and then proceeded to violate almost all its tenets and pretty much strip even the part of the Catholic Church which was in collusion with them of their rights and powers.

Another set of documents describes how the Nazi government made religion, a “war crime”, authored by Claire Hulme and Dr. Michael Salter, and called, THE NAZI’S PERSECUTION OF RELIGION AS A WAR CRIME: THE OSS’S RESPONSE WITHIN THE NUREMBERG TRIALS PROCESS .

This is not to imply that the Christian Church in Germany, both Protestant and Catholic were not severely compromised in their commitment to the “faith once delivered to the saints”. (see Jude, NT)  Biblical faith had been devastated by the wide acceptance of Darwin and the German Higher critics. Nor do I imply that Hitler never subordinated the Church or Christian rhetoric to his purposes.  But it needs to be pointed out that Hitler had nothing but contempt for both the old and new testaments, and the Nazi plan to destroy biblical Christianity in Europe was clearly laid out before the war had begun in earnest. Therefore, trying to foist off the murderous Nazi reign on Christianity instead of admitting its obvious pagan (atheist) roots shows either a misunderstanding of the dynamics of this period of history, or a real duplicity.

(1) Hitler’s Secret Conversations 1941-1944 published by Farrar, Straus and Young, Inc.first edition, 1953, Hitler’s Secret Conversations is a translation of a document called the “Bormann-Vermerke” or Borrman endorsements. They are a collection of hand written notes made by Martin Bormann who was Hitler’s personal secretary during the war. Bormann is known to have been an extraordinarily powerful figure in Nazi Germany and a notorious opponent of Christianity.
